Tonembee Association

Tonembee  – Moving Forward With Vision

In 2011, the Canadian NGO Tonembee Association was established by Nikila Cole with a Board of Directors in Toronto Canada and Kithuia Kenya. More supporters and sponsors come on board to help Kithuia. Tonembee’s goals are to provide all Kithuia families with a solar cooker and fireless basket, and primary and secondary school educational opportunities for all the Kithuia children, especial girls, and to assist those who want to go to University, College or Technical School.

Telling The Story

The transformation of this village through education and the introduction of solar technologies has been recorded by the Tonembee Director in a series of videos from 2009 to the present. They are used to inform sponsors about the progress of the village and the children and to seek new sponsors and support.

These films are winning awards at film festivals around the world, (Gold Remi Award at the WorldFest International Film Festival in Houston, and in Selection at the LA Femme Film Festival)
